Revolutionary
Change

We’re prioritizing census and redistricting organizing in 2019 and 2020 grants and trainings. Census organizing grants focus on counting people who live in “hard to count” rural areas, mostly people of color. Reports indicate a 5% increase in those areas will bring an additional $220 billion into SPF’s 12-state southern region, bringing about REVOLUTIONARY CHANGE, dramatically altering the political and economic landscape.

IMPACT

Democratic philanthropy is a critical element in Southern Partners Fund’s vision. We strive to incorporate the voice of our grantees, membership, and other grassroots organizations from throughout the rural South. Promoting self-determination is highly valued in the organization’s decision-making process. We involve those affected by the issues at hand in community based problem-solving.

georgia muslim voter project

"Georgia Muslim Voter Project's mindset for 2019 is to organize, stabilize, and invest in all areas needed to succeed in 2020. For us, this means having our constituents fully engaged and participating in the census and local and federal elections. We believe that our core practices of voter registration, education and engagement are not in spite of the census work we are doing, but rather an amplification."
